A transaction in LUSID represents an economic activity affecting a particular instrument.
A transaction must have a transaction type in order that LUSID can apply the correct economic impact.
LUSID has a set of built-in transaction types. For example, if you apply the built-in Buy transaction type to a transaction representing the purchase of an equity:
- Your position in that equity is increased by the number of units bought.
- Your cash position in the purchase currency is decreased by the total consideration.
You can configure transaction types to modify the built-in set, or create your own.
