To get started, navigate to the Transfer Agency > Investor Management dashboard:
Click the Create investment account button to start the process of constructing a new investor structure:
Click the Add identifier button to add at least one identifier to the investment account.
If no identifiers yet exist, you must create one and then specify a Value (which can contain letters, numbers and spaces). Note if multiple investment accounts in the same scope use the same identifier then this value must be unique. More information.
Specify a Scope (namespace) for the investment account. This can be up to 64 letters and numbers (but not spaces). Note two investment accounts in the same scope must have different identifier values (see the Identifiers screen).
The Account type must be Corporate
, Individual
, Joint
or Nominee
. The type you choose determines the investor structure you can create.
Give the investment account a Display name that intuitively identifies it in LUSID dashboards.
Optionally, click the Add property button to store extra information about an investment account.
If no properties yet exist, you can create one and then specify a Value (which can contain letters, numbers and spaces). More information.
Click the Add investor record button to add investor record(s) linking the investment account to an investor.
The number and type of investor records allowed is determined by the Account type of the investment account (see the Details screen). For example, an Individual
account can only have a single investor record linking to a Person investor.
If no investor records yet exist, you can create one. More information.
Click the Add portfolio button to add one or more portfolios storing investment transactions. These transactions may originate from subscriptions into a fund, redemptions out of it, or dividends for re-investment.
If no portfolios yet exist, you can create one. More information.
When you click the Save button, your newly-created investment account is listed in the dashboard. You can:
Click the down arrow (in yellow) to expand the investment account and examine underlying investor record(s) and ultimate investors (person or legal entities).
Open the menu at the end of the row (in green) to edit the investment account, delete it, or examine a chart of the investor structure:
LUSID can chart the investor structure to help you understand it:
