LUSID has embedded BI tools that build on Luminesce, our data virtualization engine, to enable you to create dashboards and reports that further aid in understanding your data.
We’ve partnered with PanIntelligence to provide an interactive reporting dashboard and editor within the LUSID web app. To get started, sign in and navigate from the left hand menu to Reporting > Dashboards.
See how to view and interact with published dashboards and charts.
Creating a dashboard
Note: To edit embedded BI tool dashboards, you must have suitable access control permissions. This can most easily be achieved by assigning your LUSID user the built-in
ReportingManager
role.
You can use the embedded BI tool editor to create custom dashboards for you and your team to interact with. To do so:
In the LUSID web app, use the left hand menu to navigate to Reporting > Dashboard Editor.
LUSID automatically creates a dashboard for you the first time you enter the screen. To create a new dashboard, select the Dashboard Configuration button and click the Add button.
Specify a Category Title and click Save.
Click the icon in the top left corner to select your new category, known as a dashboard.
Select the Create a new chart button in the top right corner and give the chart a title.
Using the headings to navigate, select Data points, a Chart type, Filters and any other layers of customisation to apply to your chart.
Tip
You can uncheck the Auto checkbox to disable auto-refresh and instead reload the chart manually when you’re ready.
Click the Save icon to publish the chart to your dashboard. Note the dashboard is only visible to you until you enable sharing; see how to do this.
Example: Creating a pie chart that displays instruments by type
For example, you could build a chart that displays the number of each instrument type. To do this:
Navigate to Chart and select Pie.
Navigate to Data and select:
A Legend value of Instrument Type
A Number value of Instrument Count Lusid Instrument Id
To filter out all currency instruments and any instruments without a type specified, navigate to Filters and specify the following:
Tip
Specify a chart title and click the Save icon to publish the chart to your dashboard.
Once saved, you can view your dashboard via Reporting > Dashboards.
Making a dashboard available to other users
By default, only you can view your dashboards.
You can make your dashboard available to other users by navigating to Reporting > Dashboards via the top left menu. Click the icon on the relevant row to set Is Shared to true.
