Advanced reconciliations

Prev Next

LUSID’s advanced reconciliations (recs) engine lets you compare data from two sides, for example your investment portfolios against a custodian's records, and work through any differences. You can reconcile:

  • Holdings

  • Cash holdings

  • Valuations

  • Input transactions

  • Output transactions

  • Settlement activity

  • Relational data (coming soon)

  • LUSID entities (coming soon)

You configure a reconciliation once, then run it when you require. Each time it runs, LUSID compares the two sides, shows you where they match and where they differ, and tracks the review and approval of those results.

Getting started

You can work with advanced reconciliations in the LUSID web app or using the LUSID API.

To set up a reconciliation:

  1. Create a matching ruleset for each reconciliation type you want to include.

  2. Configure a reconciliation definition that brings your data sources and matching rulesets together.

  3. Run the reconciliation definition, either manually or automatically from a workflow task.

To work through the results:

  1. Review the results that need your attention, and record a decision for each one.

  2. Submit each result set for approval once the review is complete.

  3. Rerun the reconciliation after you fix any data to check that your fixes have cleared the differences.

Definition

Specifies the data to compare on each side, the matching ruleset for each reconciliation type, and how to review and approve the results.

How do I configure a reconciliation definition?

Instance

A run (and any reruns) of a reconciliation definition at a particular set of dates. LUSID creates one instance each time you run a definition.

Understanding result sets

Result set

All the results for one reconciliation type within an instance. You submit and approve results at this level.
