How do I review and manage reconciliation results?

Prev Next

The Reconciliations > Overview dashboard in the LUSID web app enables you to track, review, and approve your reconciliation results.

Each reconciliation run can include results for up to three types of reconciliation:

  • Holdings

  • Transactions

  • Valuation

LUSID bases the results on the configuration specified in the group reconciliation definition.

Step 1: Reviewing results

For each reconciliation type, you can select the View icon to inspect the results, including:

Comments

You can leave comments when you review matches, partial matches and breaks, and view the comment history.

Managing breaks

You can designate two or more break rows as a manual match. Manual matches generate a Match key to help you track matching data. What is a break in LUSID?

To manually match a break:

  1. In the Breaks tab, select the rows you wish to match and click the Manual match button.

  2. Confirm the generated Match key or provide your own and, optionally, record a comment.

You can edit and rematch these as many times as you need.

Managing partial matches

You can add break codes and comments to partial matches to track your reconciled data. What is a partial match in LUSID?

Step 2: Submitting for approval

Once reviewed, you can submit the reconciliation results for approval by clicking the Submit for 4-eyes button:

LUSID enables you to set up role-based permissions to manage who can access and approve a reconciliation review. Read more.

Users with suitable permissions can inspect the reviewed results, add comments, and choose to:

  • Confirm 4-eyes

  • Return to review

Step 3: Rerunning to update or confirm results

You can rerun a reconciliation to check the results as many times as you need. For example, if you:

  • Amend your data and need to check the reconciliation results are now matches.

  • Add break codes and match keys to your results and need to confirm the results remain consistent on a rerun.

If you wish to rerun the group reconciliation, you can do so via Reconciliations > Overview:

LUSID displays an additional row for each reconciliation type per rerun, so you can easily distinguish between the results of each rerun.

Result status

Each reconciliation result has a Result status describing how the result transformed upon rerun, out of:

  • New

  • Confirmed

  • Changed

Note that when you rerun a reconciliation after successfully amending the underlying data that caused a break, the Result displays Resolved. LUSID records the amended data as a new match or partial match.
