All entities in LUSID have a Code which is used to uniquely identify each instance of the entity. The code must consist entirely of the following characters:

  • Lowercase and uppercase letters
  • Numbers
  • Dash ("-")
  • Underscore ("_")

For each client, the combination of a scope and a code uniquely identifies an entity. Using this mechanism it is possible to have multiple versions of the "same" portfolios (e.g. from an internal portfolio management system and an external asset servicer) or price quote (e.g. from alternative data vendors).
