You can use derived properties to configure instruments in the Rebalance dashboard for various purposes, such as designating instruments as:

However, you may choose to assign your instruments using a standard property instead of a derived property. This allows you to create a property definition and simply decorate each instrument with that property.

To do this:

  1. Navigate to Data Management > Properties.

  2. Locate the existing derived property, noting the Domain/Scope/Code combination. Once noted, delete the derived property.

  3. Click the Create property definition button.

  4. Provide the same Domain, Scope, and Code from step 2.

  5. Select Value property as property type, and Boolean as data type.

  6. Decorate your designated instruments with the property you’ve created, setting the boolean value to true.
