You can write SQL with code completion that knows your catalog, explore and chart the results, ask [Candela](/v1/docs/candela-ai) for help, and find out exactly why a query failed, all in the same place. ## What you can do with LumiCode - **Write and run SQL** with syntax colouring, error highlighting, and completion for every provider, field and function you have access to. - **Explore results** row by row, grouped with totals, as statistics, or as one of more than a dozen kinds of chart. - **Ask Candela**, FINBOURNE's AI agent, to explain or improve a query, then run its suggestions in one step. - **Browse your catalog** of providers and views, including what each view is built from and what depends on it. - **Search your history** of queries, API calls and access checks, and diagnose any query run in depth. - **Work with other FINBOURNE services**: Drive, Saved Queries in Workspaces, and the Configuration Store. - **Download other Luminesce binaries**, such as provider hosts and drivers, and keep LumiCode itself up to date. ## Where to start 1. [How do I install LumiCode?](/v1/docs/how-do-i-install-lumicode) Install LumiCode and sign in. It takes a few minutes. 2. [Getting started with LumiCode](/v1/docs/getting-started-with-lumicode). Run, explore, chart and save your first query in about fifteen minutes. 3. [A tour of LumiCode](/v1/docs/a-tour-of-lumicode). See its main features, one screen at a time. 4. [LumiCode Commands](/v1/docs/lumicode-commands). Look up any command in full. In LumiCode itself, type `/help` at any time for a list of every command, or `/help` followed by a command's name for its full help. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d575ad81-c0ed-4980-bbd1-d59ac5c3de82/Images/Documentation/image-P51P7QFK.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-03T04%3A34%3A28Z&se=2026-11-03T05%3A34%3A28Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=5xNdPw9eJX9DluohNPw4PN3LkSDtMD8ieIMBUcvHAkc%3D) **Note:** Candela is currently available to some customers only. Everything else in LumiCode works without it, and LumiCode tells you if Candela isn't available in your domain.
