# Is my data encrypted while using LUSID?

LUSID encrypts all data at rest and in transit using industry standard cryptography libraries.

​All traffic into and out of our platform is encrypted by Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 and is encrypted in transit even within LUSID systems. Data and backups stored within LUSID are encrypted-at-rest with AES-256.
